Getting The Goods

I love donuts as much as the next person. I mean you can never go wrong with a light and fluffy pastry topped with chocolate or filled with cream! But when these morsels of goodness are served in an extremely aesthetic shop... I become slightly obsessed.

When I saw this little treasure on Instagram it was love at first sight. The marble tables, royal blue velvet cushions and neon yellow sign, it was my dream donut shop! Not to mention that the donuts looked equally as impressive. I figured a trip to Carlsbad and some fancy schmancy donuts would be a wonderful way to kick off spring break!

My sister and I arrived late afternoon and were very pleased that we were practically the only visitors. Plus, they were putting out freshly baked donuts, perfect timing!

As I mentioned earlier, the interior is stunning. I don't know if the designer was trying to appeal to the Instagram-driven youth but they succeeded either way. The cool color palette exudes elegance while the exposed wood, palm plant, and wall art bring in a youthful chill vibe. All these details combined makes a top-notch environment for enjoying some top-notch donuts.

Ok. Now that I've sufficiently raved about about how beautiful the shop is, you probably want to know about the donuts. We were not disappointed. I would actually venture to say that my expectations were exceeded! There was a fairly large selection and even range of sizes. They offered classics such a ganache and glaze all the way to Nutella-filled and cheesecake! After a long deliberation we ordered a total of four donuts: samoa, s'mores, seasonal berry, and vermont glaze. The total came out to around $13 but that was soon forgotten once we tried the donuts. They were all absolutely amazing! I personally can confirm that both the samoa and s'mores were decadently delicious.

While I didn't try the seasonal berry or glaze my family claims they were the best jelly and glaze donuts they've ever had.

If you're ever in San Diego I would highly recommend you swing by this place and snatch a few donuts and maybe even snap a few pictures! Overall, between designer decor and delectable donuts, I think it's safe to say that The Goods really did have the goods.
